Join us for a 3-part webinar series as our Scientific Grant Writing Experts dive into what it takes to develop competitive proposals to secure CDMRP, ARPA-H, and NIH funding.

Navigating CDMRP for Success

Speaker: Dr. Kelsey McLaughlin
Since 1992, Congress has appropriated funds for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) to foster novel approaches to biomedical research and fill research gaps by funding high-impact, high-risk, and high-gain projects. The CDMRP has allocated $370 Million in FY2024 to support these high-risk projects. Dr. McLaughlin will highlight the various programs and funding opportunities offered by CDMRP, including application logistics and tips for preparing a successful application.

Keys to Understanding the Dynamic ARPA-H Funding Landscape

Speaker: Dr. Chelcie Heaney
The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) provides research funding to build high-payoff capabilities or platforms to drive biomedical breakthroughs – ranging from the molecular to societal – that will provide transformative solutions for all individuals. With a $2.5 Billion budget in FY2024, ARPA-H aims to leverage research advances for real world impact. Dr. Heaney will do a deep dive into the current ARPA-H funding opportunities and discuss strategies and techniques for preparing a competitive proposal.

NIH SBIR/STTR: Beyond the Basics

Speaker: Dr. Brandon Turner
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Small Business Programs focus on a variety of high-impact technologies ranging from research tools to diagnostics, digital health, drugs, and medical devices. By setting aside $1.3 Billion in FY2024 for their Small Business Programs, the NIH provides support to early-stage small businesses throughout the United States. Dr. Turner will present NIH SBIR/STTR considerations and programs that are beyond the standard Phase I and Phase II funding mechanisms that can provide companies with critical resources to support product commercialization.
