Dr. Eva Garland founded Eva Garland Consulting (EGC) to bridge the gap between great scientific discoveries and the funding required to realize their societal potential. Since 2013, she has led the EGC team in securing and managing over $2 billion in funding for over 3,000 clients across the US and internationally.
Dr. Garland has served as an expert reviewer for the National Institutes of Health as well as for the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s report on the DOE SBIR/STTR program. She has presented dozens of workshops and invited talks throughout the US on topics spanning scientific funding strategies.
Dr. Garland has published over a dozen manuscripts in fields spanning the physical and biological sciences as well as science education. She is the corresponding author on a Nature Biotechnology manuscript that describes EGC’s success in increasing the representation of entrepreneurs in the NIH Applicant Assistance Program for the first time in the 40 year history of the program. She is also the lead author on EGC’s three best-selling books on the SBIR/STTR program.
Prior to founding EGC, Dr. Garland held positions on the Chemistry Faculty at NC State University and as Vice President of Research & Development at Agile Sciences. At Agile, she oversaw a grant program that generated over $15M in non-dilutive funding to support the company’s pre-clinical development of a new class of compounds for addressing drug-resistant bacterial infections.
Dr. Garland has been recognized by the American Chemical Society, the Triangle Business Journal, and Inc. Magazine for her scientific and business achievements.
